Moto Morini launches new Avio and 1200 Sport V-twins

Classic Italian marque releases details on new 1200 V-twins aimed at new riders and retro fans ... Scroll down for the full story

News reaches us of two new models from Moto Morini. First up is the Avio - a version of the mighty Corsaro roadster with a detuned engine aimed at newer riders. Its 1,187cc V-twin motor puts out around 20bhp less than the full-bore 140bhp of the Corsaro, with tuning designed to optimise low-down torque and smooth running.

The rest of the Avio is closely based on the Corsaro too, with the steel trellis frame finished in blue with silver paintwork (or red frame with black bodywork), and lower-spec conventionally-mounted front brake calipers.

Next up is the 1200 Sport - a more retro-styled version of the Corsaro, again with a lower output engine, and natty scrambler-styled dual exhausts, a wacky paint scheme, and single seat unit. It comes in this orange/blue colour, or a British Racing Green/Yellow version, which sounds hot. The spec also includes headlight fairing, single seat unit, hydroformed swing arm, 50mm Marzocchi fork, Paioli rear shock, double tapered exhaust pipe and 320mm Brembo brakes.

The Avio and 1200 Sport will both cost £7,999, and will be available later this spring. More info from www.motomorini.com, or call 01202 823344 in the UK.
